Interesting projects. FWIW, RTEMS Epiphany architecture port is now upstream (under BSD license) and will be part of the next release. There are some other SMP patches that will be submitted once I’ve sometime.

  • Hesham,
Awesome! It has been really fantastic following your efforts with RTEMS. Have you received any feedback on in the wild use of your port so far? Would be great if you could do a blog post here telling people why RTEMS on Epiphany is interesting.

    Andreas,
Didn’t get any reviews yet, that patches have been merged only a few days ago, with a BSP intended to run on the simulator (and GDB on the parallella board since it handles the read/write system calls). It would be nice if there were a UART core on the FPGA, instead, I had to write a polled shared-memory console driver to get some output. I’d love to write about it once I get the SMP patches merged so that users can actually find/run some interesting use cases.
