Hi,

I'm in France. It seems effectively that it works better (but not perfectly) using a usb hub.
Otherwise, I'm using a Point Grey Camera connected to a bus-powered usb hub (Genesys Logic 4-Port).

Dear All,
I am now on my second board. Neither board has been able to recognize the powered usb hub at any time in usage. I am using the recommended Belkin USB hub. Using latest version of Ubuntu, HDMI on 7010, SKU P1601-D03. When I type lsusb here is what I get:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub. Also the computer boots to the user login screen but none of the peripherals respond. Additionally the usb port is receiving power from the hub. Any help getting this working would be greatly appreciated as I really want a working board to do research on. Thanks in advance!

I got my board a few days ago. Now I finally have the micro HDMI cable, USB-OTG cable, power supply (5V, 3A) etc.
Impressive that it is one of the cheapest Zynq boards around, but also has the Parallella on it as well.

When I turn it on, it boots, the HDMI display nicely lights up and shows a boot up screen, but
USB does not work, so I cannot log in to configure the board. So I know that the fpga and linux
image are getting loaded and run.

I suppose this is the problem we are talking about here.
My setup:
1. no fan (board hasn't ever been on long enough to get warm). Big heatsink.
2. 5V 3A power supply. (old Nokia power supply, calibrated and tested)
- voltage out without load, 5.3 V
3. wireless USB mouse/keyboard (both Logitech and Microsoft tried)
4. U3 32GB microSD card, SanDisk
5. USB-OTG cable plugged in next to micro HDMI. USB-OTG cable works in Android device fine.
6. other USB port tried, also no success.
7. SKU P1601
8. FPGA/Linux version used: that which was available for download yesterday.

Just got my board two days ago from DIGI-KEY (usa) lots of disappointment so far.

50% of the time the network won't come up (i've never had network issues here and the only thing having issues is this board). I also bought a Nvidia Jetson TK1 which btw is working flawlessly out of the box on the exact same network cable and network. (yes unrelated to USB issues, but IS related to the rest of my comment)

100% of the time the USB will not work.

I've tried various low power USB things like usb-sdcard as well other items via a powered hub (RTL dongles, GPS, digital compass) and varying lengths of USB cables.

I *REALLY* expected a whole lot better results from this board after reading so many positive reviews on it. This is a major disappointment to me mostly because I just expected it to work.

SETUP IS:

* Failure mode (sometimes or always?)

100% failure

* Headless/hdmi configuration

headless

* FPGA/Linux/Ubuntu version being used

Most recent as of Nov 30th, 2014 from http://www.parallella.org/create-sdcard/

* Fan used?

12V120mm - avg temp 46 (per xtemp)

* SKU#

I can't see the SKU because there's a big honkin Heatsink on it (first thing I did when I got the board before I powered it up)

* Power supply used

10A 5V switched (Fluke VOM shows 5.08vdc)
