New thoughts

Working on the current target of getting the (by me, too) desired cheap enough 7020 / Epiphany to work with custom FPGA designs, even ARM compiled parallel code and being able to reliably use this system and it's peripherals as standalone computer, I thought maybe it would be interesting to consider a further parallella idea/suggestion:

- a PCI-Express card with : a Xilinx 7040 Zinq, with the pci-express interface,
- some serious (2 64 core ?) Epiphany chips
- possibly some DDR5 (like inthe graphics cards) memory
- when it (hopefully) still exists some amount of static ram for the epiphany to use as program/data memory. possibly in Harvard architecture construction
- a nice connectivity on the back of the card, maybe with fast connection cables to other boards (for instance for fast turnaround IO), for measuring, actuating, controlling with a lot of processor power, from a dedicated PC card.

Any how I was making a very fast 12 core, X79, GTX770 PC the other day, and it struck me how nice it would be to have such a card in addition to it, and (besides windows) to even run such system connected with a good PC Linux.

Regards,
