Just got board pardon newbie question

I just set up my board and imaged an SD. I plugged in the parallella to a TV HDMI and got no display. Is it possible that this cannot drive a TV?

Tried it on a HDMI monitor too. What does one do if it does not work out of the box?

Also tried it with and without my boot disk (theoretically I should see a signal even if I got the boot disk wrong). I tested the cable with another device and the cable is fine.

What are my options - what am I missing?

In addition I also plugged the ethernet into my router without and HDMI and turned it on to see if my router even sees it. It doesn't. What option do I have besides just returning device and getting $ back. Is there a simple test I am missing. Is there any other place that could help.

Newer Parallella images do not support HDMI output at all. Older images did support it.

Do the LEDs on the board light up when you plug in the power? If not, your board might be defective.
Otherwise, try to flash a new SD card with the current image. By default, all images try to get an IP address with DHCP.
