Is there any way to use the Epiphany cores to run Node.js applications? Maybe using each core as a node in a cluster?

I am very interested in use Parallella board as a tiny and powerfull server platform in Node.js.

I'm curious if anyone has revisited this since the OP. I haven't tried it but it would seem completely practical to run a Node.js process on the host A9 and use it as a gateway to the Epiphany (via a native extension to Node.js). In my scenario, the A9 would be heavily loaded with upstream socket management, JSON I/O normalization, and dispatch of code, program, and data to the Epiphany.

Guess I should just go try it and see how far I can get.

I just purchased a 16 core Parallella board. I was excited to build a node.js app that utilized all 16 cores but require('os').cpus().length returns 2. Any updates on actually using these cores with node.js?

Not yet. You'd need to extend the node.js interpreter to be able to utilize the Epiphany cores. I don't know enough about node.js to comment on whether this is feasible or not, given the (fast) memory limitation of the Epiphany.

Running Node.js on the board while directing eval() javascript routines to the other cores would be sufficient. Would this be possible? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
