Parallella Community

Issue:
Parallella can get DHCP address, is pingable but I can not SSH into the Parallella. No HDMI output is visible on my HDMI monitor when the Parallella boots.

Network error. Connection refused

How long about, should this take for the ssh key? Also, is it for sure that there will be no output on HDMI whatsoever in headless mode? For some reason I was thinking there should some output but no desktop such as something in the way of x.

There will be no HDMI output at all with a headless configuration, since the reason it is called headless is that the FPGA design does not have a HDMI controller! Although I appreciate that this could be a cause of confusion as in the wider sense "headless" can be used to mean simply no KVM attached.

Somehow, and I have no idea when or how this happened but: I saved the putty profile set to telnet rather than SSH.

This was 100% operator error, but I think the discussion on 'no KVM vs headless' is great.

Thanks for all the help! Now I just need to decide what I am going to do with a super computer!!!

My board is up and running. I had a large delay in trying to get the board booted because of school work and then work. I plan on getting a high quality 16 or larger SD card and getting the gui going.
